Description
The Ugears Engine Clock is powered by a metal spring and runs for approximately five hours on a full winding. A retrograde mechanism automatically returns the second hand to zero after it reaches the 60-second mark. The pendulum and escapement create a characteristic ticking sound, and elapsed time can also be observed through the visible mechanism at the rear of the clock. No glue or special tools are required for assembly: the plywood parts are pressed out of the boards and fitted together step by step using illustrated instructions. After assembly, the clock can be adjusted and set through its mechanical controls. Combining timekeeping with an exposed engine-inspired mechanism, the finished model is both a functional clock and an unusual decorative object for fans of mechanical design.
